There are different types of external otitis. The most easily resolved is the infectious type, but we all have patients with seborrheic dermatitis who continuously suffer from itchy and stained ears. This leads to eczematous external otitis, which can become a fungal otitis. Patients can become quite uncomfortable and resistant to treatment.
